Quality . . . . . . . . . . . . . Call Toll Free 800-711-2153

The saying "talk is cheap" goes hand in hand with promises of quality.  Companies exist that produce an inferior product despite being ISO 9000 certified, and yet others with the finest measuring and testing equipment have problems with reliability because the workforce is not motivated or skilled enough to produce a good product.

At Express Ball Screw Repair we do not rely on international designations, the finest equipment or the most accurate measuring tools to supply a good product, we instead base our work ethic on experience and good old fashioned craftsmanship. Each precision rebuilt ballscrew unit is not only measured for accuracy but passes the "man" test. The man test takes precedence over the machine and a reconditioned ball screw is not shipped unless we are happy with it, even though it may test OK.

Our ball screws are rebuilt with super fine surface finishes and quality components for long life. They are individually preloaded to give the highest possible positioning accuracy. They look and perform as they did when new.

We do occasionally make mistakes but it is not in our interest to do reworks so it is paramount we get it right the first time. That is our promise to you.

A word about Ball Size and Quality

Correct ball size and quality is critical to achieve superior positioning accuracy, repeatability, and long ball screw life.

If the ball size is incorrect a ball screw will never achieve its designed positioning potential. If the material hardness, spherical accuracy, or surface finish is incorrect the wear characteristics of the ball screw will be seriously compromised.

Quality precision ballscrews feature consistent ball to raceway load over every revolution of each load ball for the entire length of travel. To achieve this goal it is not only necessary to accurately machine ballscrew parts, but to provide a surface finish suitable for the ball to run along without abrasion. Finish lapping and polishing the raceway of the screw and recirculating ball nut is useless if the balls running along them do not at least match the accuracy and surface finish. Because a load ball is in constant contact with the raceway but traveling along the track, the wear to the balls exceed wear to the raceway. For a ball screw to perform flawlessly over a period of time the quality and accuracy of the balls are paramount to a high precision ball screw.

Unlike many ball screw reconditioning companies, Express Ball Screw Repair Co. uses balls of equal or better quality than were installed by the original ball screw manufacturer. Many of our competitors are satisfied to install the minimum quality Grade 25 chrome steel balls that are cheaper and more easily obtained in multiple sizes than high quality balls.
Express Ballscrew repair predominantly uses Grade 10 for balls 0.1 inch to 0.375 inch in diameter, Grade 5 for balls less than 0.1 inch, and only use Grade 25 for balls over 0.375 inch diameter because this grade is only accurate enough for the larger size balls. To recondition all types and sizes of ball screw correctly it is necessary to stock almost every size of ball in at least 0.000050 inch (50 millionths) increments. To stock hundreds of ball sizes of predominantly Grade 10 quality is beyond all but the most reputable and committed companies.

The balls that go into your ball screw help determine the quality of the finished product so be satisfied that the balls being installed are the correct grade.
